I really love blogging. I have a lot to say and I am smart enough to recognize that not everyone wants to hear me go on and on and on.... about what happens to be cycling through my head at the time. Plus, sometimes I have a hard time putting my thoughts into verbal words (how many times have I walked away from a conversation with something very clever to say, but it was too late. Then I just end up wishing the other person would start the conversation again - just so I can be clever). So, the way I see it, blogging is possibly the greatest thing that has been invented, ever. I can ramble, and people have a choice as to whether or not they want to listen.
Let me first explain where the title of my blog came from (its a cute story, you'll love it, really). When my oh so adorable son, Aidan was about 2, he developed a kiddie love affair with the movie Finding Nemo. For the scattered few of you who haven't seen the movie, there is a character named Peach. She is a starfish, so, as starfish do, she was constantly stuck to the side of a fish tank, making it hard for her tank-mates to hear what she was saying. When this happened, they would say "can't hear ya Peach". Well, one day I was upstairs trying to communicate with Aidan, who was downstairs. After many "what" and "huh" and probably a couple of "whatever", he finally said, in his squeaky 2 year old voice "uuhh, I can't hear ya Peach!" The nick-name stuck, and 4 years later, when someone says "Peach" I turn my head - yes, even in the produce section.
The 'Bit' part of my title, is a clever play on the 90210 hang-out, The Peach Pit. Because, frankly, who doesn't love 90210 re-runs (the old high school ones were David was a geek and Donna had blond hair. Not the college years, those were just weird).
Thus, the start of my blog. I hope you enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoy writing it.
